Self Catering Lodges Loch Ness

The Location

Achmony is situated above the village of  Drumnadrochit,  on the shores of Loch Ness….world famous for its beauty and unsolved mystery…the Monster. The private road, solely for the use of visitors to Achmony turns off the A831 Drumnadrochit/Cannich road and winds uphill where each lodge is individually sited in over 70 acres of birch studded hillside overlooking Loch Ness.

Drumnadrochit has won awards for its stunning floral displays, including the miniature floral castle on the village green, and has shops, restaurants , post office, bank with ATM ,Loch Ness exhibitions  and Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness with its interesting visitor centre. There is pony-trekking,fishing, a variety of local walks(leaflet available) from leisurely strolls to over 30 Munros, boat trips on Loch Ness or hire a mountain bike and explore on two wheels. Achmony is the perfect base for touring:  Inverness capital of the Highlands is 14 miles, and is a vibrant city while still retaining its old world charm  with a Castle, Museum, Cathedral, Theatre, and modern Aquadome with sports and leisure facilities; Glen Affric now designated a National Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife with picturesque lochs and majestic mountains and here you can see some of the oldest Caledonian pine trees in Scotland .Experience Scotland’s only mountain railway and travel up Cairngorm Mountain enjoying a snack or meal at the top in the highest restaurant in the UK. Visit  castles, distilleries, the Isle of Skye, the semi-tropical Inverewe Gardens and even royal Deeside each within a round day trip, or have a day “at home”, relaxing and enjoying the peace and seclusion whilst enjoying the everchanging views from your patio or balcony.
