The Caledonian Canal is an ideal place to spend a boating holiday exploring Loch Ness, the Caledonian Canal and the Scottish Highlands. With over 12 different classes of self sail vessels to choose from, you are sure to find one that meets your exact requirements whether you have a week or a short break.
Caley Cruisers is the company that pioneered boating holidays on Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal. In operation since 1970, the business is still owned and managed by the same family therefore we are proud to offer you 37 years of experience to make the most of your boating holiday.
The 60 mile trip from Inverness to Fort William takes approximately 3 days each way therefore ample opportunity to visit the many visitor attractions and activities along the way, not to mention the wonderful eateries to sample local specialities and of course one or two of the many whiskeys which are distilled en route! The company has a fleet of 35, high quality motor cruisers, many of which are purpose built at our boat yard in Inverness. No previous boating experience necessary as full safety instruction given. So what are you waiting for? Set sail on a Scottish voyage of fun with Caley Cruisers! Fishing Permit - A fishing permit can be arranged when you check-in on arrival. The permit covers the boat; therefore there is no restriction on the number of rods used. The cost is £20 per week or £10 per short break, payable on arrival. Bike Hire - Bikes are available to hire from the boat yard. Pre-booking is essential. Dinghy Hire - We can also offer dinghy hire. This would be purely for recreational use as there is no requirement to use a dinghy to go ashore (you will be berthed alongside jetties and pontoons during your cruise). Pre-booking is essential.
