Eagle Brae is a brand new luxury self catering development of genuine hand-made bespoke log cabins.

All our cabins are fashioned from the hand-worked trunks of giant Cedar logs and finished with wild grass turf roofs. There are no machine cut logs and no two logs the same: every cabin is a unique handmade work of log art. The interiors are decorated with hand carved wood panels depicting Highland animals, Celtic patterns and Pictish beasts.

The cabins are set well apart around an old Highland broch on an elevated ridge overlooking the fantastic views of Strathglass, far enough apart to give each cabin its own privacy and unique aspect, but near enough to retain a sense of log village community.

Eagle Brae has been specifically designed as a completely carbon neutral tourist destination. We are totally self-sufficient for all our utilities and energy needs: a micro-hydro scheme powers the domestic electricity and hot water, Biomass wood-pellet burners provide the under floor space heating, and our water is extracted from a natural underground source.

The landscaping has been left deliberately wild, the cabins nestling comfortably amongst the open birchwoods that straddle the brae between the meandering river Glass and the mountain peaks north of the great glen.

Opening spring 2013, we will have two sizes of cabins - three of our cabins will sleep 6 and four cabins will sleep 4. Dogs welcome.

Only half an hour from Inverness the capital of the Highlands, only half an hour from Loch Ness, and situated right in-between Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar the finest remaining stands of pristine Caledonian pinewoods untouched since the last ice age, what finer base could there be to explore the Scottish Highlands?
