Comfortable timber-built lodges set in a woodland park eight miles north of Loch Ness. A 15-minute drive will take you through the wild beauty of the Aird moorland plateau down into the Great Glen, where you can admire the majestic mountain scenery of Loch Ness, visit romantic Urquhart Castle or take a boat trip on the loch in search of the elusive Monster.
The park is also an ideal touring base for this part of the Highlands, with castles and distilleries to visit, and fishing, golf, hill and forest walks and pony-trekking available nearby. There is an abundance of wildlife, from the badgers and deer which visit the park itself to the golden eagles and stags you can see in the neighbouring glens, or you can watch from the sea-shore or from a boat for the Moray Firth dolphins.
There are pubs and restaurants in the nearby villages, and the park is only 20 minutes drive from the attractions of the city of Inverness. Despite its peaceful country setting, it is conveniently close to the main roads, making a trip to Skye or John o’Groats easily possible.
The lodges sleep 4 to 6, with one double and either one or two twin bedrooms. They include an open-plan lounge with satellite colour TV, a well-equipped kitchen and a shower-room. All are on one floor, with parking immediately outside, and some are suitable for people with restricted mobility. Bed linen is provided, with the beds made up ready for your arrival, and towels are provided on request. The lodges are kept cosy even in winter by electric heaters in all the rooms and a wood stove-effect fire in the lounge. Electricity is paid for by card meter.
The park has a heated indoor swimming pool (open from April to October), a tennis court and children’s play area, and there is plenty of space for children to run around. Other amenities include a laundrette and payphone, and a games room with pool and table tennis. Children and pets are welcome! We are open all year round.
