David and Mary welcome you to the Steadings. Set amidst magnificent scenery close to Loch Ness and only 15/20 minutes from the City of Inverness. The Steadings is a sensitive conversion of original farm buildings dating from 1860 retaining the old stonework and timber beams giving a sense of unhurried charm. 'The Grouse & Trout' Restaurant' provides the very best of Scottish and Local produce in an imaginative menu often including 'Whole Sea Bass' and 'Finest Angus Fillet'. Individual 3 star standard accommodation throughout. Group bookings are welcome.
For years this site, if not the present buildings, has provided hospitality and accommodation to people traveling through the Strathnairn valley. History provides details of the Macgillivray clan assembling here before going to fight at the battle of Culloden 1746.
The cosy lounge bar with its sloping beamed ceiling and stone walls brings an atmosphere of old world charm, the ideal place to relax with a tot of whisky from the excellent array on offer, or for an aperitif before dinner. A varied selection of Scottish beers and lagers may also quench the thirst of the avid traveller.
The comfortable main lounge situated along the rear of the property has wonderful panoramic views of the Strath and the hills of Strathnairn, from here much wildlife can be admired. Often the resident hare family play on the lawn or you may be privileged to see the Osprey collecting a trout from the flichity loch.
There are nine excellently appointed guest rooms, some are on the ground floor and some on the first floor, and all are decorated to compliment the surroundings, image, and style of the property.
