The Byre self catering holiday apartment is part of a complete rebuild of the farm buildings at Kindrummond overlooking Loch Ness, about 1.5 miles south of Dores in the Scottish Highlands. Finished in 2009, the new building retains some of the original stonework, and features vaulted ceilings throughout with exposed beams. Oak floors, underfloor heating and solar panels bring this self catering apartment firmly into the 21st century.
This 2-bedroom apartment really does have some of the most fabulous views out over Loch Ness of any self-catering property in the area. It sits 600 ft. above the Loch and all its main windows look directly out over it. It is a perfect base to relax or explore the area with magnificent scenery on your doorstep.
Being on just one level, it has high ceilings with exposed beams which give a very spacious feel. It would be suitable for older or less physically able folk as there are no stairs. The Byre has a big living/kitchen area, with sliding doors to a patio and picnic table with a view over Loch Ness. There is a 28" television, and a stereo with an i-pod dock. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need with fridge-freezer, dish washer, washing machine, microwave and lots of cupboard space. One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other has two singles. Both are spacious and airy (the high ceilings), but are also carpeted and the under-floor heating ensures that you will be cosy even in winter.
