New Loch Ness sign at Fort Augustus

July 17th, 2011

Here is a photo recently taken at Oich Pier, Fort Augustus where the community have funded this new sign. Both the new sign and the new orientation panel for the canoe trail are drawing a lot of interest with many taking the opportunity like below to have a snap taken beside the Loch Ness sign.

Tipsy Toddler Tasting

June 23rd, 2011

Fiddlers Cafe Bar report "Our Tipsy Toddler Tasting last week here at Fiddler’s went very well with £550 raised for the Glenurquhart Childcare Centre.

Many thanks for the help and support from Ross Urquhart Joinery, The Clansman Hotel, Macleod IT Solutions, The Benleva Hotel, Kilmore Farmhouse B&B, Loch Ness Events & The Loch Ness Whisky Parliament who sponsored the 6 different Whiskies tasted. The Star of the night was a 5 year old Ledaig Single Malt from the Isle of Mull."

Audiences love her pure, lilting voice lifted in traditional Gaelic song but with a contemporary twist, and her mastery of traditional stepdancing. Joy performs with the equally talented Patsy Reid (Breabach) on fiddle and guitar maestro Paul Taylor. A feast of traditional Highland culture presented in a fresh and engaging way, for Highlanders and visitors alike
