Days out from Loch Ness

Inverness and the Loch Ness area is the hub of the Highlands and geographically located in a central position so is an ideal base for Highland holidays. Staying in Inverness or Loch Ness, just 8 miles apart, you can travel to all parts of the Highlands easily within a day trip. There is much to do in and around Loch Ness but if you want to see more of the Highlands and do some touring, it's easy on our quiet uncongested roads. Many of the days out suggested here will be more than 1 hours drive but all will be easy to do comfortably in a day.

There are many gardens, historic sites, whisky distilleries and some especially fine castles in the Highlands.  Many are open to the public and make wonderful scenic and exciting days out from Loch Ness.  You will be spoilt for choice but if you can't do everything in the time you have, then you'll just have to plan another holiday in the Highlands.
