Great Glen Way - Long distance walk

The Great Glen Way is a challenging long distance walk through some of the most dramatic scenery in Scotland. 73 miles/117km in length route follows the entire length of the Great Glen from Fort William, in the south west, to Inverness in the north east. There are many spectacular views to be enjoyed along the way with many awesome panoramas on the Loch Ness section of the walk. There’s also lots of historical and natural heritage sites and information to be discovered along the way. The route is suitable for all levels of walker and can be completed in 5-6 days. Careful planning is advisable in order to book your accommodation in the various hostels and B&B establishments within the Glen. Prefer to cycle? why not hire bikes for the trail see Ticket to Ride

The Great Glen Way can be walked in either direction, however, walking from Fort William to Inverness you have the prevailing wind behind you and you begin with the easier sections of the Way.
