Man v Horse – South Loch Ness, 19th April 2015

Following the great success of the inaugural ‘Man v Horse’ race in 2013, this unique event is back in 2015, bigger and better! The 26 km event takes place between the village of Whitebridge and Drummond Farm near Dores on South Loch Ness. To make it as equal as possible there are several hill climbs, including the wonderful Fair Haired Lad’s Pass, to challenge both runner and rider, totalling over 3000ft of ascent mostly with superb views of Loch Ness.

The winner will receive the superb Jacobite Warrior Perpetual Quaich. Small quaichs will be presented as keepsakes to the fastest woman runner and fastest man runner, and the fastest rider. All competitors received either medals (for the runners) or rosettes (for the riders). Tea and cakes are provided at the finish!

Have you got what it takes to beat a horse over this challenging 26 km course?

50% of all profits (including sponsorship) will be donated to Help For Heroes this year as our chosen charity and the other 50% will stay with the South Loch Ness Access Group to keep on with their access work in the South Loch Ness area. The entry fee for both runners and riders is £30, but participants can raise more for charity if they wish - there is a prize for the biggest fundraiser!

Start at 11.00 at Whitebridge Hotel. Finish at Loch Ness Riding, Dores.

Enquiries for the 2015 event to Candy Cameron – or tel. 07973 815208.
