Outdoor Activities and Adventures

Boots N Paddles: Activities tailored for you

We are a mobile outdoor adventure activity company operating throughout the Highlands of Scotland. We're privileged to be in a part of the country with endless opportunities for adventure on our doorstep.  We cater for all sorts of people from families, groups of youths and charities to stag and hen groups, corporate away days and large adventure event managers.

Boots N Paddles outdoor activities include open canoeing, kayaking, archery, climbing, abseiling, hill walking, orienteering, mountain biking, gorge walking, canyoning, weaseling and WoW balling to name a few.  We also offer activity and wildlife holidays and we can even lay on a mini-Scottish Highland Games just for you.

Guided canoe trips

We offer a number of guided canoe trips including the majestic Great Glen Canoe Trail and the River Spey.  Led by our friendly and experienced local guides you’ll be in safe hands, getting the opportunity to improve your paddling skills while taking in all the areas have to offer as you pass gently through them.

Canoe/ kayak hire and shuttle service

The Highlands of Scotland contain some of the most majestic rivers and waterways our country has to offer.  From two-hour paddles to multi-day adventures, a canoe is the best way to experience them.  The River Spey, River Conon, River Beauly and the Great Glen, which includes the awesome Lochs Ness, Lochy and Oich are all just begging to be explored!  Need a suggestion? Give us a call.  We enjoy talking about canoeing almost as much we love doing it!!

With 40 boats, 3 vehicles and 3 canoe trailers, we’re the largest canoe and kayak hire-company in the Highlands.  Offering a very flexible shuttle service, emergency pickups, quality boats, camping gear and even a fishing rod to catch your dinner; you can arrange it all with us.

Family Activity Weeks

When you come to the Loch Ness and Inverness area there are so many things to do with your family, it’s often difficult to choose.  Boots N Paddles offer family activity weeks where we organise some exciting but safe outdoor activities for you to join in each day, hassle free: you could be weaseling and abseiling one day, WoW balling the next,  canoeing, walking or mountain biking.  This is a great way to get active in the outdoors while exploring some of Scotland’s best countryside.  And, with so many great places to stay in the area what could be better than returning to your comfortable accommodation for a refreshing shower and hearty meal at the end of the day.

Guided mountain biking

On a bike you can cover more ground than on foot but still at a pace slow enough to appreciate the wildlife and surroundings.  Alternatively we can take you over more technical ground where you won't have the chance to look up!  With the North of Scotland being mountain biking heaven we can offer some of the most scenic, pleasurable biking in Scotland, or some of the most technical.  The possibilities for day trips are endless, with plenty of opportunities for longer, expedition-style trips for those with more time on their hands.
