Cruise Loch Ness is based in the charming village of Fort Augustus in Loch Ness’s Southern corner. 2012 will be our 44th year of running trips on the Loch, which makes us very well qualified to make your cruise on the World’s most famous stretch of water a relaxing or exhilarating experience (dependant on what trip you would like!).
We operate two very different trips:-
1. The Royal Scot
The stalwart of the Company, and our much loved flagship. Built to a custom design in 1991 for ‘Cruise Loch Ness’ she has been plying her trade on the Loch for the last 20 years and will probably be here for another twenty or more years.
She runs every hour (subject to demand and weather) on the hour from 10 am until 4pm. In the summer months she also runs evening trips every night at 8pm. During the winter we operate at 1400 daily. Our friendly crew will give you a presentation on the Loch, which includes the Sonar screens that we have in our heated saloon, the Geology of the great glen, and even the elusive Monster!
2. The Ness Express
Our two fast RIB’ s (The Ness Express and the Ness Explorer) operate four times a day between Easter and October and if you are looking to see a bit more of Loch Ness, then this is the one for you !
Our standard trip from Fort Augustus to Urquhart Castle and back is approx 40 Miles long and takes around 90 minutes. We supply weatherproof gear, a fast boat and an entertaining Skipper! Passing by the remote southern shore of the Loch we often see Ospreys, wild Goats, Red Deer, Pine Martens and Golden Eagles. This tour has a more personal touch as there are a maximum of only 12 people per boat, the Skipper will stop from time to time and show you some amazing scenery and a really old Castle!
