Fly Fishing on the River Farrar

Culligran Estate has 5 miles of mainly double bank fishing on the River Farrar, divided into three beats. The Farrar is one of the two main tributaries of the River Beauly and flows through a Special Area of Conservation and a National Scenic Area. The water is as attractive and varied as the scenery and the wildlife. You can easily find yourself sharing the fishing with an otter, a heron or even a kingfisher. There are over 30 named pools available.

The estate offers daily permits (fly only) for both salmon and trout fishing, subject to availability. (Prices from £10 per day for trout and £30 per day for salmon with generous discounts for members of the Beauly Angling Club often available). Culligran Estate often has access to the Struy Estate beats on the Glass and Farrar until late in the season. It is essential to ring in advance to make a booking.

Permits are usually collected from Culligran House. Accommodation with bike hire is available at Culligran Self Catering Cottage and Chalets. We have a conservation policy of returning at least 50% of your catch, return all fish over 6lb. and no treble hooks to preserve wild stocks. Sorry - No fishing on Sundays.
