At Wild Rose Escapes we run craft, wild cookery and relaxation holidays in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland. Our craft holidays concentrate on collecting and using natural dyes, felt making and batik. Our cookery courses teach foraging for wild foods and a range of prehistoric and traditional cooking methods outdoors. Our relaxation retreats combine elements of craft and cooking with yoga, walking and wildlife. We run day, weekend and week-long escapes. Our pre-arranged holidays have no more than six places available and we can organise bespoke short breaks for groups of 2 or more and longer holidays for groups of 4-10 people.

Wild Rose Escapes is easily reached by plane, train, coach, bus or car (being less than 30 miles from the centre of Inverness). Despite our accessibility, we are in a breath-taking location, surrounded by some of Scotland's most beautiful glens (Strathglass, Affric, Strathfarrar and Urquhart) and the legendary Loch Ness is just down the road. Our holidays are run from Crochail Wood, 100 acres of forest which is home to much wildlife, including red squirrels and pine martins.

We have a wide range of local accommodation that we can arrange according to your tastes and requirements, be it camping, bed and breakfast or self-catered chalets, static caravan holiday homes, cottages or highland lodges.

We are both qualified archaeologists and also have lots of catering experience, including cooking for people with all sorts of special dietary requirements. Our food comes from a network of small, local producers of delicious, natural ingredients. We also have a network of people who run some elements of our holidays, including wildlife experts, walking guides and yoga teachers.

Our aim is to ensure that as well as getting the activities you have come here for, you also go away having had a real taste of Highland life, including its natural and social history, the interesting people who live here and the relaxing pace of life, Our aim is for you to take a little piece of the Highlands home with you, be it memories of stunning landscapes, borrowed recipes, dirty boots or just the peace and tranquillity of one of Europe's last great wildernesses.

As well as organising specialised holidays, we can also create exactly what you want from your stay in the Scottish Highlands. If you have a group of between 4-10 people and know what you would like to do then please let us know. You can combine as much or as little as you want from a wide range of activities, including: • Hill Walking with a local guide • Yoga with an experienced teacher • Holistic Massage • Bird Watching Walks with a specialised guide • Felting Workshop • Outdoor Wild Cookery • Natural Dyeing Workshop So for example you could... spend a couple of days doing craft workshops, then a couple more walking and end with a well-deserved massage. Prices vary according to the activities you do and your catering needs.
